A few weeks ago, I had the perfect idea for my mum's birthday gift: a felted eyeglass case. I knit one up, threw it in the washing machine.... and it came out as a misshapen blob. Attempt number 2: knit, rinse, repeat. After blob-child number 3 came and went (along with my mother's birthday), I finally did what I should have done from the beginning, and hopped over to Ravelry to find a pattern.
This is loosely based on the Lion Brand Felted Eyeglass Case [ravelry link]. I used garter stitch rather than stockinette, and swapped some Cascade 220 out of my stash for the Lion Brand Wool suggested in the pattern. I ended up hand-felting this in the bathtub, because the washing machine was mangling the fabric to death. I think it came out pretty cute! (Hopefully my mother doesn't choose today to start reading my blog!)
